On September 9, 2015 Post of Russia issued a souvenir sheet "500 years of stone Kremlin of Nizhny Novgorod" with one stamp. A scene of examination of the stone Kremlin from the opposite bank of the Volga River is illustrated on the sidelines of the souvenir sheet. From left to right: Pietro Francesco (Italian architect who built the Kremlin in 1509-1511), boyars of the royal retinue, construction workers involved in the construction of the Kremlin, the Grand Duke Vasily Ivanovich and Nizhny Novgorod governor Prince Andrei Borisovich Gorbatyi-Shuiskiy.
Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is a unique military fortification built in the beginning of XVI century (1515). It was considered as one of the greatest buildings of Russian military fortification architecture. Nowadays, the Kremlin is the administrative and cultural center of the city. Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is part of the Historical and Architectural Museum since 1958.
