Russia. 70th anniversary of the United Nations

On September 15, 2015 Post of Russia issued a stamp dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The stamp features the logo of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations on the background of the UN headquarters in New York.
The United Nations (UN) is an international organization created in 1945 to maintain and strengthen international peace and security, to develop the cooperation between states. The name "United Nations" was first used in the Declaration of the United Nations, signed on January 1, 1942. The UN Charter was approved at the San Francisco conference, which took place from April to June 1945. It was signed by the representatives of 50 states on 26 June 1945. Nowadays, 193 states are the members of the organization. 70th session of the UN General Assembly will be open on September 15, 2015.
