On December 3, 2015 Post of Russia issued three stamps dedicated to N. Muraviev, K. Pobedonostsev, N. Tagantsev in the "Famous lawyers" series. The stamps illustrate the symbolic column of law and the lawyers’ portraits with moire ribbon on the background.
Nikolai Muraviev (1850-1908) was the Minister of Justice and General Attorney of the Russian Empire, a member of the State Council, famous lawmaker. During his work Russian judicial system was reformed.
Konstantin Pobedonostsev (1827-1907) was the chief procurator of the Most Holy Synod, member of the State Council of the Russian Empire, jurist and statesman. He is an author of numerous publications about the legal, historical and social issues, which developed not only the legal but also the political life of the country.
Nikolai Tagantsev (1843-1923) was a statesman, famous criminologist and law professor. Tagantsev’s legislative initiatives in the field of criminal law and judicial laws of the Russian empire were ahead of his time, so the scientific activity of the lawyer influenced the modern Russian law.
