Russian occupation of Ukraine (DNR Donetsk) 2024 Real RARE Registered letter from occuped region to St.Petersburg
Date of issue: 13 Jun., 2024
A rare and interesting Registered letter from the occupied city of Gorlovka in the Donetsk region of Ukraine to Russia (St. Petersburg), paid for with Russian stamps (a mix of definitives and commemorate stamps, with the 2007 stamp with a truck "brought" from Russian territory much earlier, before the occupation, and the definitives Russian stamps received by the post office during the occupation). At the same time, the stamps are canceled with clearly legible cancellation not of the Russian Post (!), but of the Donbass Post - a de facto "independent" postal operator, not recognized by the UPU
The letter perfectly illustrates the organization of postal communications in the occupied Ukrainian territories during military operations and is a good exhibit for specialized collections and exhibition samples
