The most recent edition of the catalog of Russian postage stamps1857-1965 (September 2012). Edited by VB Zagorski. In the process of working on a catalog was used official documents and materials of the Central Museum of Communications AS Popov, materials From fund special storage Goznak, from Russian and foreign philatelic literature, catalogs and auctions.Score of stamps is in rubles. In this catalog was used the experiences of previous editions, as well as:

• Changed the estimate of stamps.
• Presented varieties of stamps by the directions of the watermark.
• Introduced numbering of the reissued stamps- presented information about  "rasters" (bitmaps).
• Clarified literal numbering of stamps.
• Indicated stamps that most often falsify.
• Presented quality category (I - IV) and the table of assessment stamps.
  

All of this greatly simplifies the description of stamps, removes many "difficulties" in stamps assessment.
